A leader in night skiing with a charming atmosphere.
Located on the top of Big Cottonwood Canyon in the Wasatch Mountains is Brighton Ski Resort. Known for incredible amounts of deep powder, Brighton has well-groomed runs and a wide variety of terrain. Southeast of downtown Salt Lake City, the resort is an area leader in night skiing terrain. There are 18 lighted trails and 200 acres of night skiing or snowboarding.
Brighton provides a unique skiing or snowboarding experience for everyone in the family. Most lifts access all types of terrain making it easy for families to ride the lift together and still meet at the bottom. For more adventurous expert skiers and snowboarders, Brighton’s lifts, via their open boundary policy, provide virtually unlimited access to some of the best back-country in Utah. All of this is offered for a surprisingly affordable rate.

There are many types of lessons for all ages and abilities available at Brighton. The Just For Kids program provides instruction for children 4 to 12 years old. The adult group lessons (ages 13 and up) have classes in beginner to expert, ski or snowboard, and even pipe and park to name a few. Private lessons might be the best way to learn to ski or snowboard. Times can be arranged for participant convenience and reservations are recommended.
Brighton has been a tradition since 1936 when a few people designed and built a ‘skier tow’ out of wire rope and an old elevator drum. But old isn’t outdated, and Brighton is currently one of the most diverse and modern areas in Utah. Because of the wide range of terrain and quality of snow, Brighton maintained its popularity throughout its history and continued to expand. Steady improvements over the years have led to the Brighton of today, with 4 terrain parks, 1 half pipe, 7 lifts and 66 trails.
